WENDY VIGDOR-HESS, RD, RMT, Wellcoach®
Wendy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University and completed traditional training in nutrition at Loyola University. She attained her dietetic internship through Bastyr University. Nationally certified as a Registered Dietitian, in 2006 Wendy also became a Certified Wellcoach®. She is a staunch believer in the importance of exercise and its relationship to wellness and has been certified by the American Council on Exercise since 1994.
In private practice since 2000, Wendy has worked as a Public Health Nutritionist for the Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Seattle, Washington before settling in Virginia in 2003. She has been a nutritional consultant to The ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) of the Piedmont and is currently a consultant with the Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine & Digestive Center. Wendy presents locally and across the country to a variety of audiences on nutrition and wellness topics.
As a certified Reiki Master Teacher, she also offers Reiki certification classes and sessions. She offers classes and private sessions in Charlottesville, in the relaxed country setting of her home office in Afton, VA and greater Virginia. She offers additional classes in DC, Baltimore, and Seattle areas.
With husband, Bill, son, Solomon Orion, daughter, Althea Opal, and their dog, Maude, Wendy enjoys hiking, yoga, creating, dancing and get-togethers with family and friends. Experience has shown her how dramatically nutrition, energy healing and movement can improve the quality of one's life. Through counseling, writing, and teaching, Wendy shares this knowledge and passion for healthy and vibrant living.

I began my career in nutrition after having a successful career in business and retailing. Focusing on the importance of creating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle throughout life and the healing power of food, I encourage clients to set personalized goals and to visualize their big health dreams and then provide ongoing support to help them reach those goals.
I customize programs to suit your goals and personal objectives by developing practical, realistic strategies that will result in long term success. Focusing on self-empowerment, I offer education and understanding as keys to making healthy lifestyle choices.
Following an initial consultation, ongoing support can include (and is not limited to) emails, vitamin protocols, cooking lessons, notification of workshops and presentations, and in-home kitchen assessment to evaluate food products and preparations that you tend to use.
I firmly believe that we can empower our lives by choosing foods that nourish us. Eating is a daily activity that supports our energy, our state of mind, and our physical well-being. The self-empowerment approach through education and understanding facilitates each person in making the best choices for him or herself.
